Hello, Everyone!
It's been a long time since anyone has made use of our ListServ, so I =
thought I would get the rust out of it and send you information about =
our Community Leadership Breakfast and campaign kickoff on September 11, =
2002.
This year, Beverly Bennett-Roberts, director of Project Common Ground, =
is the featured speaker. This project matches urban and suburban =
teachers and their 5th and 6th grade classes to spend 12 days and nights =
together over the course of the school year. The goal is to enhance =
cross-cultural understanding through a variety of experiential =
activities that help students begin to break down racial barriers and =
stereotypes and move toward building understanding, respect and =
appreciation for all of humanity. The Stillwater School District is one =
of 10 east metro school districts involved with the program. =20
The breakfast is 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at the Lake Elmo Banquet Hall on =
Wednesday, September 11.=20
To remember the events of last year, we are having a table of special =
guests from various public service groups. There will be =
representatives from the police and fire departments, postal service, =
national guard, emergency response workers, school principals, Red =
Cross, and the hospital. =20
You are invited to attend. Tickets are $15 a person or $150 for a table =
of 8. Please call our office before September 9 for reservations -- =
