I am a single mom who feels passionate about working hard to make a difference. I (and about 300 others) am taking part in a huge endeavor for the larger community. The MN Red Ribbon Ride. This is a grassroots NON-PROFIT ride produced by nine Minnesota organizations supporting persons with HIV/AIDS. This ride is completely different from rides of the past that you may have heard about (and that I have taken part of as well). The benefiting organizations put in equal seed money and time and will receive equal proceeds out. I am very excited to be part of such an event. Not only are we raising money to help those in need, but we are also helping to raise awareness of a disease which the World Health Organization calls the biggest health concern for the world. This year’s 350 mile ride will take place July 10-13. The ride begins here in the Twin Cities and goes through Southern MN. It being a local ride, you may come out to cheer us on or welcome us home! I am still working to make at least the minimum $1500 fund raising requirement, and hopeful that I can reach my personal goal of $2200. This year, due to budget cuts to health and human services, charitable donations and benefit events such as this are even more important. I hope you will consider this one of your tax deductible donations for this year. Every donation, large or small really does add up to make a difference. You may mail your donation to the MN Red Ribbon Ride office, or for a more cost efficient method you may donate online. To make an online donation go to www.mnredribbonride.org, click “Make a Donation” and follow the easy steps. Feel free to contact me or call the MN Red Ribbon ride office, 612-822-2110, with any questions. In Love and Gratitude, Kristin Warfield, rider #48 The MN Red Ribbon Ride.
