perhaps you have heard of this already. what is
becoming of our city?! less cops, no summer programs
for the kids, no meals on wheels funding, no
porto-potties in the parks/parkways, more guns in the
mix?!?!?!
what can we do?!?!
I am writing to let you know some information I have
received. There have been 3 reported Robberies around
the Matthews Park area this week. 2 of these reports
have involved guns being used.
1. Tuesday 4-22-2003 ------ a Robbery of Person
occurred at 12:51 pm. This occurred near the corner of
27th Ave S/25th St E. A Black Male juvenile victim
was attacked and strong armed robbed of possessions by
the
occupants of a passing vehicle.
2. Tuesday 4-22-2003 ----- an Armed Robbery of Person
Aggravated occurred at about 11:15 am. This was
reported to be in the area of 30th Ave S/25th St E. A
party was in his front yard and approached by two
black males. Suspect 1 was described as about 15-17
years old, average build, 5' 6" to 5' 7", wearing a
report sports jumpsuit and baseball cap. Suspect 2
was described as a black male about 15-17 years old,
5' 9" to 5' 10"
wearing a yellow/green Jersey (possibly with the #6 on
it and "Mills" on the back), this person was said to
have right "curls" for hair. Suspect 1 walked up to
the victim in his front yard and asked victim to
"break a $5.00" victim said no and Suspect 1 pulled
out a handgun and took money from the victim, a police
report has not been filed on this case yet.
3. Wednesday 4-23-2003 ----- an Armed Robbery of
Person Aggravated occurred at about 12:57 pm. This
was reported to have occurred in the 2500 block of
28th Ave S. Victim was walking down the street and
was approached by a black male, 15-18 years old, 5' 8"
to 6' tall, medium build wearing a gray hooded
sweatshirt and blue jeans. Suspect pulled a gun on
victim and
demanded money. Suspect fled north on 28th Ave.
Both parties reported the gun to be a "small, silver
handgun".
Please notify your block clubs and neighbors. It is
unknown if these are all the same suspects or
different people at this point. But they all occurred
around the same time of day.
Please call 911 if you notice suspicious activity.
If you have any information about any of these
incidents or know who may be responsible please

know.
