I have set up a web page to collect stories so that we can guage the scope of the problems and come up with ways to solve them. Please visit www.geocities.com/takhistos/Crime.html to see what's going on. Nathan Mitchell __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I have addressed many problems in the Seward neighborhood and while many have listened (mostly housing issues), not many persons have offered solutions -- other than for me to write the attorney general or some other government agency. In this day and age where many people are being forced to take early retirements or are retired, I wouldn't think we'd have any problem finding volunteers. I know older folks don't like to do tasks where they feel they are putting their safety at risk, but I know fraternity houses are required to do service in the community (because my brother did that when he was in college). I don't see why Seward cannot solicit their help too. Neighborhood churches may also be able to provide help or at least make their parishioners aware that we do have some problems. You wouldn't believe how gullible members of a neighborhood church were when they went door to door evangelizing every Tuesday at the Riverside Plaza Apartments a couple years ago. Police got called on them! Thanks for listening. I used the web page and listed some scary incidents I experienced in the past 5 months since one of my friends moved into the Seward Square Apartments.
