The first step is to read the "overview" email for the topic - this email will be sent out on May 5th = in the morning (GMT-9). We ask you to also read the longer discussion paper = and case studies on our website under "Online Discussions". We welcome your comments and question regarding any of these papers.=20 To send a comment to the discussion list, send email to:=20 pemv-net@communityforum.net=20 Please use a descriptive title as the subject of your email and please = be clear and concise with your message. You may also reply to a previous message from the discussion list if you would like to follow up on a previous comment. Also, please take the time to once again read the discussion netiquette before you send emails to the group: www.endabuse.org/bpi/netiquette.php =20 2) When can I participate in the discussion? =20 Since this is an email based discussion, you may participate at any time during the scheduled two weeks. This gives you the flexibility to read = and respond to the discussion emails when you have free time. Please note = your email is sent to the moderators before it is posted to the entire list, = so there will be some delay before you see your email appearing on the = list. The Moderators are located in San Francisco in the United States (GMT = -9) and will work 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday. =20 3) Who else is participating in the discussion?=20 When you send an email to the discussion list, it will go to the entire community (now over 500 people). Most of our participants are = individuals in the United States working in some capacity towards ending men's = violence. We are also pleased to have many experienced individuals from other countries as part of our community. =20 4) How do I unsubscribe from the list, or set up my account so I receive daily digests?=20 There is a PEMV-net administrative web site to make it easy for you to control the options for your participation. On this website you can = choose to receive daily digests (one email that consolidates the day's = postings), suspend postings while you are away for long periods of time, or to unsubscribe from PEMV-net. This useful site is here:=20 http://mapnp.mnforum.org/mailman/listinfo/pemv-net 5) What is the role of the Discussion Facilitator? =20 The facilitators have written the introductory pieces that will be sent = out as emails, as well as the longer papers found on our website. = Facilitators will follow up their initial article posting by clarifying general = questions and concerns at least two times per week. The facilitators will also = offer brief concluding remarks at the end of the two-week seminar period. Due = to the expected traffic on the discussion list, the facilitators are not expected to answer all individual requests or questions, but rather to = give more general and comprehensive responses that take into account the = various trends. 6) What is the role of the Moderators?=20 The moderators support the technical and thematic aspects of the series. = We will launch, summarize and end each two-week discussion according to the = set schedule. We will monitor the emails sent to the list prior to their posting to ensure the emails are appropriate and virus free. To the best = of our abilities, we will offer technical assistance to participants as per requests. This discussion series will be moderated by James Lang, Lucy Salcido Carter and Dean Peacock (consultants for the Family Violence Prevention Fund) and David Rider of Men Can Stop Rape.
