Thanks Beth. It's always nice to find new techniques.

BYW - I'll miss the group meeting next Friday because I'll be at my brother's place in Texas. - Barry was here today helping us out of crashed database problem. We downloaded the latest version of ebase, recovered 2 files(forced into that) and just now the conversion script is converting the log.200 file. With luck we'll be back in business on Monday.

I've just spent time figuring out how to change a date column to a year in Excel. I've attached the steps, pretty simple when all in said and done! Let me know if it doesn't make sense - or work for you.
