Parking available at no cost. We will be in the basement of the bank in the Board Room. It is the BIG Wells Fargo Bank Building on Xerxes Avenue South off of France and 494 in Bloomington. The bank is on the east side of the complex and you enter through the main bank door and can you can either ask for the location of the Board Room on the lower level or just go down the step or use the elevator to the lower level, the board room is at the bottom of the steps. If you have problems finding the building you can call Denise at 507.828.5559 Anita, John, David, Jane & Denise had a very productive meeting with the planners of the Small Town Symposium last week at the University of Minnesota in Morris. It's a beautiful campus and buildings are very close together, so it should be a great physical venue for the combined Symposium-Summit in June. Please continue to spread the word about the June 6 & 7 event! Registration info is available at www.minnesotaruralpartners.org or www.centerforsmalltowns.org. Because we are combining efforts this year with the Symposium, and the full Summit planning committee is not as involved in the detailed logistics as in previous years, we would like to propose that the Summit planning committee continue to meet once a month to stay updated AND work together, in the spirit of the 2006 theme, on a resource we can all contribute to in time for the Summit/Symposium and beyond -- the creation of a Rural Resources Directory. We would like to discuss what is already published on paper or on-line and then see how we could combine efforts to make as comprehensive a directory as possible -- one that cuts across all sectors having to do with rural Minnesota - health, housing, transportation, business development, education, etc. We've already had nibbles of interest from the people creating the www.MinnesotaHelp.info web tool, for example. If we can help them add more rural-based resources to their existing database, that would be a significant "working better together" accomplishment for everyone to share. Please let me know if you will be able to attend on March 20. We look forward to working together in 2006 and beyond! Have a great day!
