Dear Colleagues:

Just a reminder that we are NOT having a May meeting of the Summit Planning Team. The next meeting is set for the tail end of the Small Town Symposium in Morris -- on Wednesday, June 8 from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. at the LaFave House on College Ave 1/2 block from the UMM main entrance. We'll soon post directions up on the Summit planning website at http://www.minnesotaruralpartners.org/2005_summit/planning/ . David Fluegel says this is a beautifully renovated home that was donated to UMM. So block that time out and come to Morris. By the way - if you want to come to the Small Town Symposium, June 6-8, registration is now open at: http://www.centerforsmalltowns.org/symposium

We're at a Summit planning stage where several folks are pursuing parts of the whole thing, including:

- Denise: Connections Stations confirms and exhibitors --- please spread the word about exhibit booth availability
- John H.: Storytelling Contest details
- Jane: Sponsorships
- Amy F: lining up recreational and other interesting extracurricular activities
- Anita: lining up volunteers for registration and directional aides, etc.

Ann Treacy and Denise Pfeifer have been doing a great job getting the registration site up and running. Give it a try, check for errors, and register at  http://www.minnesotaruralpartners.org/2005_summit/index.htm. Also, please send Ann your website links and/or logos so we can put those on the Summit website to showcase the Planning Team member organizations.   atreacy at treacyinfo.com

And we'll update you as to the final schedule of the regional Storytelling contest sites/dates. We would appreciate help in promoting those events.

See you in June! Meantime -- promote the heck out of the Summit. Check the updated schedule and spread the word about the excellent line-up of speakers and presentations. People can register for $75 off the regular rate until May 18. Pass the good word!
