HousingMinnesota Co-Sponsors Voter Mobilization Clinic July 22nd As part of the National Low-Income Housing Coalition national voter registration effort being kicked off on July 22nd, HousingMinnesota will co-sponsor this clinic with the Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless and the Minnesota Participation Project. Topics covered at this FREE training include: Effectively registering low-income renters and people experiencing homelessness to vote; demystifying the 2004 voter registration card; answering questions about who can and cannot vote; addressing residency concerns; and rules on same-day registration. Tom also serves as the Deputy Executive Director of the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority. In his commentary, "Section 8 cuts will hurt families, economies," Tom makes the case that these cuts are a tremendous setback to struggling low-income families and the housing authorities across the state that are trying to assist them. A secondary impact is on local economies across the state.
