We'll start by trying to get some agreement on what the purpose of a political party is. Is it to win elections? Advance agendas? Build movements? We'll then rate the parties on how well they're performing those functions. Two weeks later we'll look at how other states handle various party functions, from endorsing to caucuses to instant run off to fusion and evaluate whether any of these methods improve the functioning of parties.
