Hennepin County Bar Association Offers Training for Nonprofit Board
Members

The Hennepin County Bar Association has a program called LINC, which
stands for Leaders Impacting the Nonprofit Community, designed to meet
the continued need in the nonprofit community for leaders trained to
serve on nonprofit boards. This program is designed for a small group of
accepted applicants and offers training and exposure to topics such as
(1) effective leadership in public, private and nonprofit sectors, (2)
personal leadership style, (3) the practical aspects of running
meetings, fundraising and effective committee work, (4) governance, (5)
the nexus of leadership and ethical principles, and (6) demographics and
social issues. MAP staff members Judy Alnes and Amy Wagner have served
as LINC faculty, and have found this program to be a high quality,
in-depth exploration of nonprofit board service. The 2007 Program begins
in January and ends in June, and applications are being accepted now!
Additional program information, as well as the application form and
tuition information, can be found on the Hennepin County Bar
Association's website, www.hcba.org., under the "Member Programs" menu.
Please note that you don't need to be a member of the Hennepin County
Bar Association to apply - lawyers and other professionals are
encouraged to apply.
