* Technology Expert with Knowledge of Spyware
MAP is looking for a technology expert who is willing to lead a 30 - 45
minute presentation on spyware (e.g., what it does and how to guard
against it) for a group of less-experienced techies at MAP's monthly
TechTalk on either February 11 or March 10, 2004.

* Business Planning
Small nonprofits have asked for help in developing business plans which
will guide their organization's growth and help them obtain funding.
Skills required for this project include general business management and
operations experience as well as business planning.

* Business Coaching
Nonprofits evaluating and implementing new earned income strategies
benefit greatly from working with a business coach. The coach helps
evaluate their current business plan and is available for advice and
mentoring as the nonprofit works to implement their new strategies.
Coaches should have real world experience developing and/or building new
programs or businesses.=20

* Board Training
Several nonprofit organizations have requested a customized training for
their Board of Directors. Volunteers with training experience and
knowledge of nonprofit boards are needed to facilitate one or more of
these training sessions. MAP provides the curriculum materials and
slides. See MAP's website for specific information about the
organizations requesting board training and the dates these trainings
are being held.

* Strategic Planning Facilitation
A volunteer, well-versed in strategic planning and skilled as a
facilitator, is needed to facilitate a half-day strategic planning
session on January 31, 2004, for The Society of Architectural
Historians-MN Chapter.=20

* Fundraising
An organization that provides aid to those in need in various African
countries has requested assistance with prospecting potential donors,
grant writing and general consulting on fundraising.

* Marketing/Communications/Media Relations
MAP has several projects in the area of marketing/communications.
Specifically, MAP seeks volunteers with expertise in marketing planning,
media relations, graphic design, and sales. See MAP's website for

Consulting in the Nonprofit Sector
This two-hour, interactive workshop is held monthly at MAP. Topics
covered include: benefits of volunteer consulting with nonprofit
organizations, similarities and differences in for-profit and nonprofit
organizations, the MAP consulting process, roles and expectations of
volunteer consultants, and resources available through MAP. This
training is free and only open to MAP consultants.=20

Board Boot Camp
Offered monthly at MAP, this two-hour, interactive session covers the
legal duties of board members as well as basic board roles and
responsibilities.

Explore Coaching
December 5, 10am-noon, at MAP. Cost is $20 per participant.
Professional coaching is a powerful tool for executive directors,
managers, volunteers, and board members who want to become more
effective leaders. Like executive coaching in the for-profit world, this
is an opportunity to learn, to create meaningful changes in your life,
and to get results for your organization. Join us for a chance to meet
our coaches, sample the coaching process, and make an informed decision
about whether and with whom you'd like to proceed.

anti-virus protection software on 310 computers at 48 nonprofit
organizations during MAP's Nonprofit TechTrek on October 10th. The
