The holidays are a wonderful time to become actively involved in building a
strong community. Please consider the following board and consulting
opportunities available through MAP.

BOARD CHAIR TRAINING
Board Chair Training is offered twice a year at MAP. This in-depth training
covers topics for the new or more experienced board chair including: How to
run a meeting; Handling conflict; Reaching consensus; Fundraising; Board vs.
staff roles; and Establishing a nominating committee. Cost is $50 and
dinner is provided. Next session is Wednesday, January 9 from 4-8 p.m.
BOARD TRAINING
Board Boot Camp is offered twice a month at MAP. This 2-hour interactive
session covers the basic roles and responsibilities of nonprofit board

CONSULTING IN THE NONPROFIT SECTOR
Consulting in the Nonprofit Sector is offered monthly at MAP. This 2-hour
interactive workshop covers relevant topics including: Benefits of volunteer
consulting with nonprofit organizations; Similarities and differences in
for-profit and nonprofit organizations; MAP consulting process; Role and
expectations of volunteer consultants; and Resources available through MAP.
This training is free for MAP consultants and is only open to MAP
