Message-ID: This morning I attended the Wireless Minneapolis contract signing and ?wire-cutting? event, along with the Mayor, City Council members, Jim Farstad and representatives from USI. The community benefits agreement is now legally embedded in the contract, and the fund will accept an initial payment in early December. The Digital Inclusion Task Force is working towards a Community Foundation recommendation, which will come in the next week or so. Next steps are to set up this Fund and develop Fund guidelines with the selected Foundation, as well as create a process for community representation on the Fund board. The we begin the work of developing community portals! I want to make sure that everyone who came to a roundtable or task force meeting, showed up for a Council hearing, filled out a survey, or simply supported our efforts?the success of this campaign is all of ours to share! Special thanks to Russ Adams and the Alliance for Metropolitan Stability, and the MSNet Fund of the Minneapolis Foundation for their early and unwavering support.
