Soros Advocacy Fellowship for Physicians

The program on Medicine as a Profession (MAP) of the Open Society Institute
(OSI) has established the Soros Advocacy Fellowship for Physicians to
inspire physicians to greater participation in civil society and engagement
on behalf of the public interest. Physicians are especially qualified to
advocate on behalf of their patient populations and communities, and they
command a prestige and credibility that can serve as a valuable asset in
advocacy efforts. The fellowship seeks to make a broader vision of societal
welfare a core professional value for physicians by developing a cadre of
advocates with expertise in achieving system or policy level change at the
local, state, and national level.

The next application deadline is January 21, 2004.
